The district authorities have divided the district into different health blocks for the purpose smooth functioning. In the health block of Mathana falls the Kurukshetra city. Other other health blocks are Pehowa, Ladwa and Jhansa.
Health Programmes in Kurukshetra
The district health authority has a taken a mission to find ways for improving the quality of life of the people of Kurukshetra by providing better health services and thereby increasing productivity through minimisation health risks and injuries in a cost effective way. All those programs follow W.H.O. (World Health Organisation) guidelines. The District Health Services is responsible for carrying out the program who follow the guidelines laid out by the State Health Services of Haryana.

There are three 100 bedded government hospitals in Kurukshetra one in Pehowa, Shahbad and Thanesar/ Kurukshetra. In addition to these three hospitals there are many Community Health centers, Primary Health Centers and Sub-centers to meet the health related demands of the local populace. It is worth mentioning that the average health of people of this region is way better than that of average Indian.
